Ashley Porche Tassin serves as Senior Director of State and Local Affairs at The Picard Group. She brings over a decade of experience in lobbying, public policy, and public relations.
Prior to The Picard Group, Tassin worked as a contract lobbyist, helping her clients navigate the regulatory arena and legislative process. She has extensive experience in governmental affairs and public relations. Previously, she held positions at two of the largest local government associations, the Louisiana Municipal Association (LMA) and Police Jury Association of Louisiana (PJA).
During her tenure at the LMA, she held multiple positions including director of communications, director of research and special projects and staff lobbyist. She advocated for the state’s 303 incorporated villages, towns, and cities and two consolidated parish governments. As Director of Government Affairs for the Police Jury Association, she was responsible for monitoring and drafting legislation relative to local government in addition to working with key stakeholders including legislators on state and federal levels.
Tassin earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and History from Louisiana Tech University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration with a specialization in Public Policy from Louisiana State University. She serves as a board member on the Louisiana State University Public Administration Institute Advisory Board, the Ochsner Discovery Advisory Board, and the Louisiana Public Broadcasting/Friend of LPB. Additionally, she holds a certification in Lean Six Sigma and serves as a Malcolm Baldrige State Examiner.
Tassin lives in Baton Rouge with her husband and two children.
