ISSUE

The Rural Hospital Coalition of Louisiana serves as the voice for Louisiana’s small rural hospitals and is governed by a board of directors comprised of small rural hospital administrators to improve rural healthcare in Louisiana.  The Coalition needed to secure funding for member hospitals’ uncompensated costs associated with providing healthcare to Medicaid and indigent residents in rural areas served by their member facilities.

STRATEGY

TPG worked closely with the Rural Hospital Coalition, connecting with local, state, and federal elected officials and regulators to influence an uninterrupted flow of revenue needed to provide quality healthcare services to the rural areas in Louisiana. TPG arranged meetings with key legislators and congressmen to inform them of the rural hospital’s needs.

RESULTS

Through successful lobbying of the Louisiana Legislature, TPG was able to ensure revenue continued to provide quality healthcare services to the rural areas in Louisiana. We continue to work closely with the Rural Hospital Coalition, protecting their revenue sources and ensuring they stay connected with local, state, and federal elected officials.
